The White Bags, 2020 (Original installation)

Created from recycled biodegradable white plastic bags, The White Bags was conceived as a fragile, site-responsive installation, shifting continually in response to its environment.

Despite the apparent vulnerability of its materials, the installation withstood three storms. Changing daylight moved across and through its translucent surfaces, while the wind animated the work, introducing movement and sound — making the wind visible.

Never entirely still, the installation seemed to breathe with its surroundings. Its fragility was countered by an unexpected resilience; delicate yet enduring, it felt very much alive.
